Workshop on the future airport experience from a way-finding, walking and waiting perspective

Out Of Office was asked to develop and facilitate several workshops and co-creation sessions to inspire and motivate teams in Schiphol and open up their minds for the future and come up with new solutions.

For Amsterdam Schiphol, Out Of Office delivered a study The New Terminal Bliss for Schiphol; a 70 page trend study on ‘how key needs of passengers in 2025, the future, developments and trends impact the airport experience from a Wayfinding, Walking and Waiting (The New WWW) perspective.’

Not only inspire but also stimulate action regarding the plans for the future

In this study, we have been researching what will be needed within the airport experience, more specifically for the ultimate waiting time, walking time and way finding experience? In other words, more qualitatively define what a ‘future airport experience’ actually is and what Schiphol can do to create or enhance that. What do people talk about today and need tomorrow?

With that in mind, we developed and facilitated a couple of workshops to inspire and motivate teams open up their minds for the future and come up with new future fit solutionsDuring this inspiring session we have dived deep into the trends and insights through various exercises. Questions like “what is the impact now and, in the future,’ and ‘which developments will be most relevant for the near future’, was be the focal point.

The result was a better understanding within the teams on what is relevant and helped them to imagine new ideas and concepts. It helped them to realize the impact of the trends on current concepts and at the same time highlight new value spaces to innovate.
