Out Of Conflict

Out Of Conflict is an initiative exploring how futures practices can help transform conflict, reduce polarisation, and open new narratives, particularly in times of social tension

The world feels full of conflict right now. For years, I’ve worked with futures, foresight, design and innovation, helping organisations and people imagine possibilities, navigate uncertainties, and shape meaningful futures.

Over time, I came to see that some of the most complex challenges we face are not technical, but relational: how we meet each other across difference, how we navigate deep tensions, and how we imagine futures beyond today’s polarisations. Because in a world of rising tensions between people, otherness and polarisation, curiosity toward that otherness is key.

It’s in the frictions, the tensions, and the places where dominant narratives keep us stuck that new possibilities can be nurtured. In this complex time, we cannot purely rely on the technical, but also on the relational. We must be open to meeting each other across differences and to questioning the stories that divide us.

Out Of Conflict was born from this insight. It is an intentional space dedicated to using futures thinking, curiosity, and narrative foresight to transform conflicts into healing, dialogue, and better futures.

Conflict thrives where imagination stagnates, when people abandon hope of moving beyond discord, and when narratives of fear overpower those of possibility.
