From Signals to Strategy: Turning Change into Impact | DDX Munich

At the 2025 DDX Innovation & UX Conference in Munich, I ran a capacity building workshop alongside my keynote ‘From Signals to Strategy: Turning Change into Impact.

The intention was simple but ambitious: to show how strategic foresight can be a collaborative and inspirational offset for any design process, and to do it in under an hour 😉

Together with colleagues from Manyone, Matthias Schmiedbauer, Carolin Barisch , Regina Gensinger , and Delia Wieser, we invited participants to have a seat at the tables and get their hands dirty with the methodology.

In the next hour, participants moved through three things: an intro to collaborative strategic foresight and why it matters more than ever; a short introduction to Signals of Change exploring how collaborative tools can trigger inclusive conversations about the future; and hands-on work with signals, using a Futures Wheel and getting a real taste of how to work with change and build an entry point to the future.

Three design principles guided the session: it’s a sprint, we focus on methodology above content, and you are the expert on your own relevant future.
